The Larder Guild

Is where I teach the methods and the detailed techniques behind everything you see me make.

The channel shows you my well tested recipe. The Guild teaches you the skill underneath it, and the system that keeps it going.

You will learn to build stocks and beautiful sauces, to layer flavor on purpose, to ferment with confidence, and to make cultured dairy, extracts, and rendered fats part of how your kitchen runs.

You will learn the techniques a kitchen is built on: curing, braising, sautéing, roasting, bread baking and pastry. Not a one-time project.
A working system in your kitchen.

From short single-technique lessons, to in-depth workshops, to complete skills collections, the Larder Guild puts the method first, with recipes there to practice and hone what you have learned.

The Larder Guild opens in spring 2027.

Hi, I'm Tamatha.

I grew up in New York City in the seventies, dreaming of life in the country. I was the odd kid who asked everyone what they had for dinner, rushed home from school to catch the Frugal Gourmet, and begged for a cookbook until my mother took me to Barnes and Noble at twelve to pick one out. I still have it.

A few years later I found Martha Stewart and never looked back. From her I learned that home is not the same as house, and that a table set with care, a garden that feeds you, and a kitchen you actually cook in are not luxuries. They are the point.

I spent twenty-two years cooking professionally before I ever had the land to match the dream. Now I live on four acres in southern Virginia with chickens, a working garden, a larder that gets fuller every season, and a kitchen where I bake and cook to my heart's content. This place was neglected when we found it. It isn't anymore.

Homestead Wife Life is where I teach what I know: fresh-milled bread, fermenting, preserving, stocks and sauces, and the everyday methods that make a kitchen run. New videos every Wednesday and Sunday. A cookbook in the works. And the Larder Guild, opening in spring 2027, for anyone who wants to learn the skills underneath the recipes.

Thank you for being here. Go ask someone what they had for dinner.
