A Day on the Homestead

Some days don’t fit into a single project—they’re a little bit of everything.
This is one of those days.
We’re moving through the greenhouse, checking on the bees, tending seedlings, and working on a fresh batch of tepache, all while keeping an eye on how things are progressing around the homestead. It’s not one task—it’s how everything fits together.
If you’d like to watch the full day unfold, the video is below.
What We’re Working On
Today’s work moved across several parts of the homestead:
Watering and checking seedlings in the greenhouse
Growing onion seeds to reduce reliance on store-bought sets
Checking on the bees and watching activity at the hive entrance
A quick update on the eBay eggs
Feeding indoor seedlings with a simple mixture
Checking the progress of our wine vinegars
Everything is in motion right now, and this is what that looks like in real time.
Tepache – My Method
I made a fresh batch of tepache today, but I do it a little differently.
Most methods use only the pineapple skins and core. I prefer to use the fruit as well—the flavor is brighter, fuller, and more balanced.
I also add:
fresh lime
fresh mint
It’s a small shift, but it makes a noticeable difference.

A Note on the Homestead
Not every day is a project video.
Some days are just about:
keeping things moving
checking progress
adjusting as needed
This is what real homestead life looks like—less polished, more connected, and always in motion.
Why this works (so you understand the system)
Opens with feeling, not explanation
Organizes the day into clear sections
Pulls the tepache into a featured moment
Sends people to your printable (this matters for growth later)
Doesn’t compete with the video—it supports it
